Full Steam Ahead – Englewood Flyover Style!
The Chicago Tribune reports that with a combination of federal, state and local funding, a confounding Chicago rail crossing has been alleviated. The Englewood Flyover – a new railroad bridge – replaces a rail crossing that, at times, resulted in days long delays in allowing freight traffic to pass through Chicago. In addition to the obvious time savings benefits, the flyover will also result in reduced emissions and noise from idling trains.
The successful completion of this bridge, allows the pedal to be put to the metal not only for the impacted services, but for two more important rail projects to take off. Read all about it in the Chicago Tribune article here.
